private conversation; kirigiri; day 6
[England isn't about to approach Kirigiri publicly, not when he knows Critter will be announcing that someone was converted soon. Instead he'll just be casually hanging around her cabin until he sees her come out before putting a finger to his lips and tilting his head towards her room.]

She frowns deeply at him, hesitating, but then she crosses to her room and lets him in. Once the door is shut, she says two Very Important Things. ]
I already know you were covering for Mr. America.
Secondly, you were the one who advised me not to welcome men into my room. Please don't try anything weird.
no subject
And I know America told you already, I was the one who suggested it in the first place. This is about something completely different. I need you to open your journal to the first page and read it.
no subject
I already know what it says. The question is, why do you care?
no subject
Just do it. If it's what I think it will be, it'll be easier to explain once you've read it.
no subject
[ If he's getting at what she thinks he's getting at...
Shit. ]

"If the hunters win, the survivors can make a request. If you request all the dead to return to life, all players will leave this place unharmed. The only way to guarantee everyone leaves here alive is for the hunters to kill the prey and win the game."
And now you know what we're fighting for and why we had to bring you in. I'm sorry.
no subject
It's her. She's the one Critter was talking about. She's the one they brought in for this purpose- because the others trust her.
It's too much. She sinks to her knees so that he can't see how her expression crumples. ]
I'll never forgive you. Any of you.
no subject
That's fine. We don't need your forgiveness. But we do need your help to bring everyone back to life. Save your anger for Critter - everyone else is just a victim in its twisted game, including the hunters who've been killed already. They don't deserve to remain dead for doing their best to find the only way out of this without any lives lost.

...
You should know.
The role you stole from me... 'Protector'.
I killed Sanae Hanekoma and Robin.
Can you really accept me onto your side knowing that I actively worked to murder two of you?
no subject
Given that we've killed several prey by now and would have killed you if Naegi hadn't insisted on keeping you alive, it'd be rather hypocritical if I didn't, wouldn't it? Actually, this is a good thing. I was hoping you'd have a role - I assume you've already told Ema of it?
no subject
She stands, shakily. ]
You're unbelievably lucky to have chosen me.
Today, Ema will completely trust me. I marked Robin's body in a way that only she can identify.
When we meet today, I'll have gained her irrevocable trust. She'll confide everything in me.
no subject
I'm glad - it's about time we found some luck in this rotten game. Then I'll leave it to you. The other hunters are Naegi Makoto, Byakuya Togami, Sharon Carter, Tony Stark, Ukyo Kunoji, Ada Vessalius, Holden Caulfeld, and Prussia. Sharon Carter is the viper - she can poison three people in the game and they'll die the next night if the caretaker doesn't save them, so keeping her alive is a priority. Ada Vessalius is currently pretending to be the bloodhound - I don't know if she's spoken to Ema yet today, but I believe she has to you?
no subject
[ It's hard not to look angry again. She tries to swallow her indignation, tries to tell herself that Naegi lied to her for the right reasons. It's all a little overwhelming. ]
...Yes. I've spoken to Ada. To be honest, I was very wary of the way she explained her role to me... And now I know why. But I have not named her to Ema yet... Which is probably a very good thing for now.
no subject
[A sigh.] Then it's a good thing we converted you. Ada's a sweet enough girl, but I don't have the utmost confidence in her ability to lie, unfortunately. On the plus side, I don't think the real bloodhound has come forward to Ema yet either, otherwise she would have known that there were two claims to it. If you can get a list of people who claimed to her, even if they're simply prey, we may be able to work out who it is through process of elimination.
One more thing - we know that Ema is lying about Luke Triton's role. According to Edward, if Luke is executed during the day, no one will be able to die that night. Unfortunately, that's the last of the confirmed roles we know about - I don't suppose you know any?
1/2
I do, actually.
[ And then, she pulls out a gun from the back of her skirt and points it at him for High Drama Impact. ]
no subject
There's a single shot in it. From what I am told, it is guaranteed to hit and kill whoever I fire at.
Sayaka Maizono gave it to me. She's the 'defender'. She can give a gun to one person per night. As far as I know, she has given them to both Naegi-kun and I. I assume that she is only passing them to our classmates- so that may include Oowada-san, Togami-san, Fukawa-san, and Asahina-san as well.
[ She looks him in the eye sharply. ] I do not want her killed. Her role is not an offensive one: she cannot use her own guns. I also outed myself as protector to her a few days ago. She trusts me unconditionally, and I vowed to protect her. So I implore that we keep her alive... And also because.
[ She lowers her gaze. ] I can control her. [ She doesn't elaborate on that. It's distasteful to take advantage of a friend, but in a situation like this... life or death... if manipulating Sayaka into gunning the right people is what has to be done, she'll do it. ]
no subject
She gave one...to Naegi? Who kept this from us? That little--!
[He grits his teeth and rubs his temples, taking deep breaths.] Kirigiri, with every minute that passes, I grow more and more thankful we chose you to convert. No, we won't kill her - if you can control her, then she could become incredibly useful to us. We may be able to end this game sooner than later with her weapons.
But if you could talk to Naegi and get him to give you his gun so you can shove it up his-- I mean, so you can put it to better use, that would be lovely. I doubt he'll ever shoot it, anyway.
And...you realize what this means, right? Hopefully, it won't ever come to this, but if one of us is ever revealed and likely to die after a trial, you can use the gun to shoot us during the night...and confirm your role with the prey.
no subject
I had a feeling he wanted to give it to me, anyway- he was implying such when he showed it to me. I insisted he keep it for his own protection, but I know him too well. I know he'd never use it, even if it meant sparing himself. So... I will try to get him to give it to me.
[ As for the other part... Wow. That's rather brilliant. ] Ah! Y-you're right. I can continue to make it look like I'm completely innocent... If one of you is doomed anyway, we can take advantage of that...
no subject
[He nods.] As I said, hopefully it won't come to that - I'd much rather use the guns to narrow down any dangerous threats. But we should put one aside just in case - we only need one hunter to outnumber the town, after all.
no subject
I'll tell Maizono-san that I used my gun on Robin last night. I'll encourage her to give me another one tonight. With Naegi-kun's, that will give our side three guns.
[ She sighs. Plotting like this is just sort of awful. ]
no subject
How did you know Robin was a hunter, anyway? Did you receive a note like the one pointing out Hanekoma?
no subject
I'll be honest: Critter brought her to me. It said it was growing bored with her. But now that I've been converted like this... I'm wondering if it wasn't because it knew I was intended to replace her...
no subject
I should have known. So Critter doesn't intend on letting us win after all. For all the town's talk about how unfairly things are sided towards the hunters, it's really the opposite, isn't it? Pointing out Hanekoma, bringing you Robin, burning Hermione, giving the rabid role to someone who only went after us...it must really want as many people staying dead as possible at the end.
That's fine. We'll beat it at its own game. I refuse to lose to a creature like that.
no subject
[ Her eyes narrow, and her leather-gloved hands clench into fists. ]
But it made a mistake. It let you all convert me. I will do everything in my power to win.
no subject
And to think we almost went with Ema Skye. You have my gratitude, and my every confidence that you will do us proud. The town may initially suspect you as one of the more likely candidates for conversion...but I believe you'll be able to convince them otherwise.
no subject
[ She tucks her journal and the gun away. ]

Good luck with Ema, then. I've already talked to America yesterday, so don't hesitate to find me if you need any more information or have anything to share - I'm covered when it comes to private conversations.
