[England will call all the nations together some time before the trial. Once everyone's there, he kicks the door shut behind him.]

All right, let me make this clear. I called all of you here because I don't think any of you killed Poland. We may not always get along, but none of us are stupid enough to kill another country when we have no idea what it will do to their people, not even Spain. If his people really are dead, all of us are going to be in deep trouble when we get back.

We need to figure out a way to prevent this from happening again to any of us. I know that Poland was a hunter. I don't care. I don't care if any of you are either. If another one of us dies, whatever we'll wind up going back to will be even worse than this town.

You think more of us could be hunters?

[He frowns and thinks about it for a second.]

I...if anyone is a hunter...you were really stupid to think you could get away with it. And you'd better tell us the truth now.

I don't know. I'd like to hope not, it'd make it a lot easier for all of us to survive.

But America's right, even if it's not for the reasons he thinks. The hunters win if they outnumber the prey - assuming none of the ones Critter killed itself were hunters, that leaves thirteen people who'll still remain alive along with them should they win without losing another member. We don't know what will happen to those thirteen, but let's assume they'll also be able to leave as well. [His lips thin.] It may sound cruel, but as much as I hate to say it, I'm willing to sacrifice twenty-so people here for the millions that we each represent.

So if one of you is a hunter, say so now. If we can't figure out a way for prey to win while still keeping you alive, then I'd be willing to work with you so long as you swear to never target any of us. Otherwise, we'll assume that all of us are prey and develop a strategy from there.

[Lithuania's lacking something behind his expression--some depth of emotion seems to have gone numb--and has been since this morning. Still, he seems focused, at least, on the situation.]

Between all of us--counting Poland--there's something like... [He pauses a moment to try and drag figures out of his mind and put them together.] Five hundred million people at risk, isn't there?

...If we can all manage to work together we'd at least have a voting block.

Yeah. We can work together to make sure none of us gets voted out during the day. And then at night...

[He bites his lip, looking guilty.]

You guys should probably know the truth about that. Lithuania, I'm sorry...

[He glances at America, then sighs.]

I agree, you may as well go ahead and tell them. If we want to get out of here, we have to trust everyone in this room.

[She's had her arms folded over her chest, waiting impatiently with small amount of irritation for England to finish. The last interjection makes her look between him and America, shoulders tensing slightly.]

Yeah. So...what England said yesterday, about his role, was a lie. He's just a regular prey. I'm the one who has a special role to protect somebody at night.

I wish I could've protected Poland last night, but I didn't even know if he was in danger...and I didn't mean to make England claim my role, either. I just thought if I made it sound like I had an important role, the bad guys would go after me and leave everyone else alone, and I could protect myself so no one would have to die. But it didn't work...

So. I'm really sorry.

It's not as if you could have known what was going to happen. [And, the practical part of Lithuania's brain hisses at him, that would have been extremely counterproductive to surviving the game.]

If one of us is a hunter, I'm not sure they're allowed to admit it. Poland implied as much in his notes to me.

Both of you--! ( Spain throws his hands up in the air when he hears America.

OH. MY. GOD. Take a breath. Exhale. Inhale. He'll kick England and America in the face when they get home. )

He left a note?

[Lithuania nods.] I checked his room and found his journal--the one we all got when this started. He--apologized for lying and said he wasn't sure how much he could write before he was breaking the rules.

So...if they can't tell us...that means one of us here could still be a hunter.

If that's the case, then revealing our claim switching may have just been a huge mistake.

[He sighs and shakes his head.] Well, it's too late now. What's done is done - take it as a sign of faith. I trust that the the rest of you will show us the same courtesy. [He looks steadily at each nation, eyes narrowing.] If we're to all get through this together, we can't hide anything. I know that's not the way our alliances usually work, but this is not the usual circumstances. We have to all be fully invested in getting every nation out of here alive.

Y...yeah, I'm trusting you guys. If we get out of here, if anything happens, I'll help however you need me too. But if you killed me...I couldn't help.

I don't want to have to like, lie about who I'm protecting to you guys. We just can't go after each other. I mean...I have people here, and some of them are really important to me, too. Like Steve...but we have to be first.

We'll need to make it a priority to keep you alive, then. It's for the good of all of us.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to disagree with that, now.

... He's already been voted for before. And for meeting in private like now.

What if someone tries to vote for him again today?

( This is Spanish for: I suppose I can help protect America for now if its for the greater good but I'm not going to admit it directly. )

It's suspicious if two people meet. But a whole group? No group of "hunters" would be dumb enough to convene when everyone could know about it.

There's strength in numbers.

( Spain nods, )

Then when the others ask, we'll vouch for him? ( He can do that! ) Do you hear that, England?

Don't let him do anything else suspicious.

( This is the hardest thing to do oh my god why couldn't it have been England for real??? )

I already met with England yesterday anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Look, as long as I can trust all you guys 100%, I'll protect any one of you who thinks you're in danger. There are some citizens here who are really important to me, like Steve, but even then I'm not going to waste what I can do on humans.

But if I can't trust you guys 100%, then if you told me I needed to protect you, it could just be to get me off someone else...so I need to know we're all in this together.

Does anyone else have a role? The more roles the better, I suppose, for figuring all of this out. I'm just regular prey, though...

If anyone has a role where they figure stuff out, me or England can be the ones to announce what they found, so there won't be attention that person.

Since we're already pretty much in the spotlight anyhow. I can just have a bunch of private conversations that day and say someone told me, but not tell anyone who.

I'm afraid at a disadvantage here. As a prey all I can do is be careful.

[Ukraine has been sitting quietly for the most part. But she nods.]

If I could get America to do anything, we wouldn't even be in this situation right now. Especially when it comes to shutting that thrice-cursed mouth of his. [He has tried, Spain. You have no idea how hard he has tried.]

You wouldn't have to worry about being killed if you just saved yourself.

( After recent events, Spain isn't really sure what to do for the trial today. )

We should definitely vote together if there's any risk of any of us getting voted out.

But otherwise...it doesn't really matter. It might even make people think we're a threat if we vote together.

( Spain nods, )

I think most of us are "safe" for now. At least, compared to... ( His voice tails. ) England has a target on him right now.

As long as the Hunters think he has a role, he's in danger. ... And so are the ones closest to him.

( Looking at you now, America. )

Don't worry. We have an advantage because they don't know who's who.

England's sneaky and stuff, so they'll probably guess that he's lying when he says he's on himself and he's really protecting me. But I'm protecting him, so joke's on them, we're both gonna be totally fine.

What if they believe he is really safe-- which he is, if you are protecting him-- and they try to get at him another way? What if they try to kill you instead?

Have you ever seen England when he's emotional?

[He rolls his eyes.]

First of all, yes, like, all the time.

[He both means that and doesn't; he knows Spain is talking about something different than England getting angry over his scones not being appreciated, but he's seen that too, and he's sure better than Spain ever has. He's not really interested in being lectured about it.]

Second of all, you act like I'm planning to sacrifice myself for England and the only thing that will stop me is he might be sad. I'm flattered you think I'm such a hero, but fat freaking chance. I'll protect myself too just fine, dummy.

All right, so let's agree that even if we find out later that one of us is a hunter, we'll do our best to prevent them from being killed as long as they don't target any of us. It certainly won't be the most morally grey thing any of us have ever done.

More importantly, we need to figure out who the scavenger that is going around killing countries is. Does anyone have any ideas or a role that could help us figure it out?

All we really know is they use a sword, right? Well--multiple swords. We could check to see how many can handle two at once, I suppose.

[Lithuania sighs.] The best-case scenario for them is they're targeting scavengers and hunters and didn't realize the significance of choosing Poland.

[Not that he wouldn't gladly tear their throats out over it, of course.]

Provided that they actually volunteer and don't try to hide their ability when they do...although given the centuries of experience all of us share with swords, I think we should be able to determine whether someone's faking.

Hmm...even if that were the case, it's still dangerous to let someone like that do whatever they want. I certainly had no idea Poland was a hunter - the only somewhat suspicious move he made was voting for Kanaya. If it takes that little for our scavenger to condemn someone for being a hunter, then just speaking up or voting wrong may be enough for them to decide to kill us.

Mm, I didn't even know. [He should have--maybe he would have been able to do something if-- No, he can't be working in what-ifs right now. Focus.]

So we should assume we're dealing with someone who--I suppose from the prey's perspective, got lucky twice.

[Now he's focused. There's hunters and prey and nations, and going back to a world with hundreds of millions dead can't be an option.]

What about how Poland was killed? Who would know to do that?
